Women in America’s War for Independence

Women played an important role in the founding of America. In the earliest days of the country, women were instrumental in establishing the colonies. Through the stories of several courageous women, students will learn about the important role women played in the American Revolution. From spying and saboteurs to nurses and soldier, women played a pivotal role in securing our nation’s freedom.

This lesson is sure to get students thinking critically about history and the role of women in our society. It’s an essential part of a well-rounded education and provides a refreshing perspective on an important time period in American history.
