What Is Ramadan?

$1.95

With our What Is Ramadan lesson plan, students learn all about Ramadan, including the central pillars of Islam, how Ramadan is celebrated today, and its history.

Description

Our What Is Ramadan lesson plan teaches students about the history of Ramadan and some central concepts and customs that are observed during Ramadan. During this lesson, students are asked to summarize the five pillars of Islam in their own words and write a summary of a passage about Eid al-Fitr, demonstrating their understanding of these concepts and how they relate to Ramadan. Students are also asked to answer the question “What are five pillars or central beliefs that you hold in your own life?”.

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to summarize the five pillars of Islam, explain the culture and customs of Muslims as it relates to the Islamic holiday Ramadan, and work collaboratively to conduct short research projects.
