Description
Our All about Russia lesson plan introduces students to the country of Russia, which students might recognize from news stories. Many students may have heard of the country, but are unaware of its history or characteristics. During this lesson, students are asked to work with a partner on a geography-based assignment in which they identify given important places and landmarks on a blank map of Russia (using a regular map of Russia as a guide); they then answer questions about the lesson material and their map and compare their map with another group’s. Students are also asked to match the information with the correct place or term in order to demonstrate their understanding of the lesson.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to locate Russia on a map, list some characteristics and facts about the country, and explain some of its history.
