Description
Our Using Illustrations lesson plan helps students understand how illustrations can enhance and contribute to story elements, such as setting, plot, characters, and more. Demonstrating how illustrations can be used in non-fiction books, and other types of content, this lesson helps students derive meaning and create context from illustration. During this lesson, students are asked to analyze pictures and illustrations and answer questions about them. Students are also asked to work collaboratively to write a short story based on an illustration, utilizing their creative writing skills and the information they learned in this lesson.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify and explain specific aspects of an illustration and how it contributes to the elements of a story or other types of content.
