Description

Our Use of Chapters, Scenes, Stanzas lesson plan teaches students how to understand the relationship between different chapters, scenes, and stanzas in books, plays, and poems. During this lesson, students are asked to read excerpts from a book, a poem, and a drama provided by their teacher and then answer questions about each and how their different chapters, stanzas, and scenes are related and structured. Students are also asked to match terms with their definitions, demonstrating their understanding of the lesson vocabulary.

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify parts of stories, dramas, and poems when writing or speaking about a text, using terms such as chapter, scene, and stanza. The students will also be able to describe how each successive part builds on earlier sections.
