Description
Our Understanding Through Illustrations lesson plan teaches students strategies for looking at illustrations and gaining information from them to enhance the text they are reading. During this lesson, students are asked to correctly match text with their illustrations in order to practice identifying key characteristics of the text and illustrations. Students are also asked to look at illustrations and answer questions about them to test their understanding of how to identify relevant details in an illustration.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to use information gained from the illustrations and words in a print or digital text to demonstrate an understanding of its characters, setting, or plot.
