Description
Our Text Features for Locating Information lesson plan teaches students about various text features that can help them locate or organize information. During this lesson, students are asked to match what they want to locate to the best text feature(s) that would help them locate the information in a book or on the Internet (for example, they would match “A quick preview of what I might read on the page” to “Headings and Subheadings”). Students are also asked to look at pictures of various text features and identify them by name.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to know and use various text features to locate key facts or information in a text efficiently.
