Description
Our Text Features lesson plan introduces students to features of text, useful for both non-fiction and fiction content. Students have used many of the features but may not be aware of how helpful they can be in their writing. Internet text features are briefly summarized as well, such as drop-down menus, icons, links, etc. Students are asked to create an example of each type of text feature discussed. Students are also asked to match descriptions with text features to demonstrate their understanding.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify and define text features and their purpose for reading non-fiction and fiction content.
