Reading Orally

$1.95

In our Reading Orally lesson plan for grades 1-2, students learn strategies for reading out loud in front of other people. Students learn the importance of tone, pacing, and accuracy, and practice reading orally.

Description

Our Reading Orally lesson plan for grades 1-2 helps students with problems they may have reading out loud. They may be concerned about pronouncing words correctly, reading too fast or too slow, or using the correct emphasis with certain words or phrases. The lesson includes tips to help students overcome their hesitancy to orally read grade-level stories and other similar text. During this lesson, students are asked to work with a partner to take turns picking sentences out of a hat and reading them aloud to each other and later presenting them to the class, practicing their oral presentation skills. Students are also asked to match given sentences to the correct expression they should use when orally reading it.

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to read grade-level text orally with accuracy, appropriate rate, and expression on successive readings.
