Description
Our Equivalent Expressions lesson plan teaches students how to identify the primary theme of a quote. During this lesson, students are asked to work with a partner to read a short story, decide the theme of the story, and find quotes that demonstrate that theme. Students are also asked to match common themes and quotes that illustrate that theme from a given list.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to determine the meaning of words and phrases, such as matching quotations to the theme of a story, as they are used in a text.
