Description
Our Images to Clarify Text lesson plan teaches students how images can be used to help clarify and explain text. During this lesson, students are asked to work collaboratively with a partner to read text passages and add drawings or diagrams to help a reader better understand the information, demonstrating that they understanding what kinds of images are helpful for each type of text. Students are also asked to match text with the most helpful picture.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to explain how specific images (e.g., a diagram showing how a machine works) contribute to and clarify a text.
