Description
Our Corresponding Spelling Sounds lesson plan teaches students how words with different spellings can sound very similar or the same. Students learn about how different “vowel teams” can produce the same sound even though they are spelled differently. During this lesson, students are asked to create lists of words that have different vowel teams but the same vowel sound. Students are also asked to identify words that share the same vowel sounds from a given list.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify and know spelling-sound correspondences for additional common vowel teams.
