Description
Our Consonant Digraphs lesson plan introduces students to common consonant digraphs, the consonant pairs representing one single sound. The consonant digraphs covered in the lesson include sh, ch, th, ph, wh, and ng. Each digraph is presented with a list of words that contain it so students may practice sounding out the words. During this lesson, students are asked to work with a partner to create as many words as possible using consonant digraphs and other parts of words. Students are also asked to work on their own to identify the digraphs in a provided story, demonstrating their ability to identify digraphs in text.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to know the spelling-sound correspondences for common consonant digraphs.
