Description
Our Connecting Text with Presentations lesson plan teaches students how to create presentations that include written, oral, and visual text. During this lesson, students are asked to create a presentation on a topic of their choice which they do research on and later present to the class, strengthening their presentation and public speaking skills. Students are also asked to work collaboratively with a friend to read a poem and look at a corresponding illustration and then answer questions about the ways in which the text of the poem and the illustration are related and enhance the reader’s understanding of the message of the work.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to utilize different forms of text (written, oral, and visual) to create meaningful presentations on topics and will understand that different forms of text enhance the comprehension of a text and is a technique authors use to assist readers with making connections.
