Description
Our Character Motivations lesson plan introduces students to the process of analyzing characters by determining character motivations. Character motivation is defined as the reason a character acts a certain way, and both external and internal motivation are discussed as part of the lesson. During this lesson, students are asked to read a story and complete a character motivation chart, demonstrating their ability to determine character motivations using evidence from the text. Students are also asked to answer questions about what character motivation is and how it can be identified in order to demonstrate their understanding of the lesson material and vocabulary.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify character motivations. Students will be introduced to external and internal motivations. Students will also be able to identify steps and a purpose for identifying character motivation.
