Description
Our Word Problems, Two Step lesson plan focuses on organizing word problems into their various parts and determining the operations needed to solve each part. Several examples are provided for the teacher to do along with the students, including problems with real-world applications, for example, figuring out how to split up a bill at the end of a dinner out. Students are asked to write their own two-step word problem using the picture provided in order to prove that they can recognize and formulate the problems dealt with in this lesson. Students are also asked to individually complete practice problems in order to demonstrate their understanding.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to solve word problems that require two steps.
