Description
Our Rational Numbers in Real-World Context lesson plan teaches students how to work with rational numbers in real-world situations. During this lesson, students are asked to choose a topic and create a table with 6 values, three of which should be positive integers and three of which should be negative integers; they then write three inequality statements about their table both algebraically and verbally, decorating their table or adding images to make it unique and showcase their creativity. Students are also asked to read a word problem and use the accompanying chart to plot the points on given number lines.Â
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to write, interpret, and explain statements of order for rational numbers in real-world contexts.
