Description
Our Ratio and Rate Word Problems lesson plan focuses on word problems that deal with rate, a ratio that compares two different types of quantities. The lesson uses proportions to solve the word problems, and uses a variety of real- world examples so students will understand that math is relevant to their everyday lives. During this lesson, students are asked to break down the process for solving these problems and answer step-by-step questions. Students are also asked to dive a little deeper and research several entertainment companies to find out which is the best deal based both on cost and services offered.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to solve real-world, multi-step word problems regarding ratios and unit rates.
