Description
Our Plane Figures and Square Units lesson plan teaches students how to use unit squares to determine the area of a plane figure. During this lesson, students are asked to practice working with a partner to use a given unit square to fill in a plane figure without gaps or overlays in order to determine the area. Students are also asked to complete practice problems on their own in order to demonstrate their understanding of the lesson material.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to cover a plane figure without gaps or overlaps with unit squares in order to determine the area.
