Description
Our Partition Shapes lesson plan teaches students how to equally partition various kinds of shapes. During this lesson, students are asked to practice splitting various shapes into different numbers of equal parts and then label them using fractions. Students are also asked to answer word problems about how different shapes can be split equally (for example, a hexagon can be split equally three different ways).Â
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to partition shapes into equal parts and express the area of each part as a fraction of a whole.
