Description
Our Reasons and Evidence Explanations lesson plan teaches students how to research a topic in a credible and effective way and how to determine credible and non-credible sources. During this lesson, students are asked to work collaboratively with a partner to read given statements, research some additional facts about the topic, and then rewrite the statements with their new facts. Students are also asked to read given statements and explain if or how the author uses evidence to support their position.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to search for information in informational texts, differentiate and explain a credible from a non-credible source of information, and rewrite sentences using citations for the sources in an informational text.
