Reading Dialogue Aloud

$1.95

In our Reading Dialogue Aloud lesson plan, students learn strategies for reading dialogues out loud. Students practice developing various speaking voices to differentiate between characters speaking when reading aloud.

Description

Our Reading Dialogue Aloud lesson plan teaches students how to better identify who is telling a story and how to change their voice to indicate a change in speaker. This lesson will help increase student’s comfort with reading aloud. During this lesson, students are asked to work collaboratively, in pairs, on an assignment in which they read a story aloud two times: the first time, in their normal voices and the second time, in voices meant to distinguish characters from each other. Students are also asked to match example dialogue to the type of voice they would most likely use to say it.

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify who is telling the story at various points in the text and speak in a different voice for each character when reading dialogue aloud.
