Description
Our Parentheses and Dashes lesson plan teaches students the proper way to use parentheses and dashes in their writing. During this lesson, students are asked to work collaboratively with a partner to write out a conversation with them in which each sentence contains correctly used dashes or parentheses. Students are also asked to work independently to add dashes and parentheses to sentences in the correct places, demonstrating their understanding of the lesson material.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to correctly use parentheses and dashes as a part of their writing to set off nonrestrictive or parenthetical elements.
