Narrative Introductions

$1.95

In this lesson, we’ll show you how to establish a situation and introduce a narrator and/or characters in a way that will pull your reader in and make them want to keep reading. We’ll also teach you how to organize an event sequence so that it unfolds naturally, keeping your reader hooked from beginning to end.

Description

Our Narrative Introductions lesson plan teaches students how to write and identify both personal and fictional narratives. During this lesson, students are asked to use their creativity and work with a partner to brainstorm 5 topics for a personal narrative and 5 ideas for a fictional narrative and list them and then write a short paragraph for one personal narrative topic and one fictional narrative topic. Students are also asked to work independently to read sentences and decide whether each is most likely from a personal or fictional narrative.

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to establish a situation and introduce a narrator and/or characters in a narrative writing piece and to organize an event sequence that unfolds naturally.
