Description
Our Linking Opinions and Reasons lesson plan teaches students about ways to link opinions and reasons in their writing. During this lesson, students are asked to work collaboratively with a partner to write a few paragraphs on a topic of their choice, including five different linking words or phrases. Students are also asked to read excerpts from opinion essays and determine the best linking word or phrase that could be used in certain spots.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to link opinions and reasons using words and phrases (e.g., for instance, in order to, in addition).Â
