Description
Our Linking Comments lesson plan teaches students how to effectively build on previous comments using comment starters and other linking words and phrases. During this lesson, students are asked to work collaboratively with a group to take turns drawing comment starters (such as “I agree with” and “I believe”) that they then have to use in a conversation about a topic of their choice. Students are also asked to read given conversations and determine the best comment for building the conversation.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to build on others’ talk in conversations by linking their comments to the remarks of others.
