Description
Our Introduction to Writing an Opinion lesson plan teaches students how to express their opinions through academic writing. During this lesson, students are asked to work collaboratively with a partner to discuss a topic and complete a table with information about their opinions, the reasons for their opinions, and if their partner agrees with their opinion or not. Students are also asked to write an opinion about a topic of their choice using the steps outlined during this lesson.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to write opinion pieces in which they introduce the topic or name the book they are writing about, state an opinion, supply a reason for the opinion, and provide some sense of closure.
