Description
Our Identifying Reasons and Evidence lesson plan teaches students how to properly identify the main points, reasons, and evidence in a text. During this lesson, students are asked to complete a group activity in which they write a short speech about a belief they have and then read it aloud to the members of their group. The other group members will then identify the point they are trying to make and the supporting reasons or evidence. Students are also asked to work individually to read various passages and identify the points and their reasons/evidence, demonstrating their understanding of the lesson material.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify the reasons and evidence a speaker provides to support particular points.
