Description
Our Glossaries and Dictionaries lesson plan teaches students how to use both print and online glossaries and dictionaries. During this lesson, students are asked to work collaboratively with a partner to use a print dictionary and come up with five new words, listing their part of speech, definition, and an example sentence using it; they then look up specific words using an online dictionary and write the definition. Students are also asked to rewrite a list of words in alphabetical order.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to use glossaries and beginning dictionaries, both print and digital, to determine or clarify the meaning of words and phrases.
