Description
Our Gathering Information from Resources lesson plan teaches students strategies for gathering information from a variety of sources, such as research or people’s personal experiences. During this lesson, students are asked to work collaboratively with a partner to gather information to complete a comprehensive chart about plants and insects that live in their area, demonstrating that they can find information about a variety of topics. Students are also asked to work with a parent or other older family member to answer questions such as “What is it like to stand in the middle of a rain or snowstorm?” and tell whether they got the answer from experiences, sources, or both.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to recall information from experiences or gather information from provided sources to answer a question.
