Description
Our Consult and Use Reference Materials lesson plan teaches students all about how and why to use reference materials. During this lesson, students are asked to practice identifying if it would be best for a student to use a Dictionary, Thesaurus, or Glossary to find certain information, showing that they understand these terms and what each resource is used for. Students are also asked to practice using a dictionary to find specific words and define them.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to consult reference materials (e.g., dictionaries, glossaries, thesauruses), both print and digital, to find the pronunciation and determine or clarify the precise meaning of keywords and phrases.
