Description
Our Analyzing Literature lesson plan introduces a five-step strategy that may be used to analyze literature. Students are frequently reminded throughout the lesson that while there are not technically right and wrong answers, they must be able to support their analysis with examples from the text. During this lesson, students are asked to work with a partner to read and analyze a poem, which they will then discuss with the entire class, demonstrating their ability to analyze and discuss poetry. Students are also asked to match terms with their definitions, demonstrating their understanding of the lesson vocabulary.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to draw evidence from literary texts to support analysis and reflection, and use strategies to develop critical thinking skills.
