Description
Our Adjectives lesson plan for grades 4-6 teaches students how to add color to their writing. This lesson builds on their existing understanding of nouns, verbs, and other parts of speech. Students are encouraged to flex their creative writing skills with an exercise that asks them to describe a number of objects around them using adjectives. They are also asked to identify adjectives in sentences both on their own and in pairs, allowing them to collaborate and consult with their peers.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to accurately identify adjectives within a text, correctly and independently use adjectives in writing, and order adjectives in a conventional pattern.
