Description
Our Adapt Speech to Context lesson plan teaches students how to adapt a speech or presentation to suit a specific audience. During this lesson, students are asked to work collaboratively with a partner to take turns giving short speeches about given topics as if they were speaking to specific audiences, allowing them the opportunity to practice adapting the same content for different audiences; their partner then does a short evaluation of each speech. Students are also asked to match given statements to the most likely audience they would be used for.Â
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to adapt speech to a variety of contexts and tasks, using formal English when appropriate to task and situation.
