Description
Our Range of Writing – Grade 5 lesson plan teaches students that there are many different types of writing that require different styles, timeframes, and information. During this lesson, students are asked to work collaboratively with a partner to write different paragraphs with different sets of instructions and guidelines in order to ensure they can both follow directions and alter their writing for different purposes. Students are also asked to answer questions about different types or forms of writing, demonstrating their understanding of a wide range of writing styles and purposes.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to write routinely over extended time frames (time for research, reflection, and revision) and shorter time frames (a single sitting or a day or two) for a range of discipline-specific tasks, purposes, and audiences.
