Description
Our Decode 2-Syllable Long Vowel Words lesson plan teaches students about 2-syllable long vowel words and how to determine which long vowel sounds are found in various words. During this lesson, students are asked to sort a given list of words by their long vowel sounds and then create a poster showing each category and the words that belong in each, demonstrating that they can identify long vowel sounds in words. Students are also asked to write sentences using given 2-syllable long vowel sound words.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to decode regularly spelled two-syllable words with long vowels.
