Description
Our Messages in Stories lesson plan teaches students strategies for identifying and understanding the central message or lesson in the stories. During this lesson, students are asked to read a story, determine the main message, and give evidence to support that from the reading. Students are also asked to work collaboratively with a partner to read a story, discuss the key details, and then use their creativity to illustrate each key detail.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to determine what lesson an author wants a reader of his/her book to learn and give details of a story that support the central message.
