Description
Our Introduction to Text Features lesson plan teaches students about different text features in nonfiction writing, including title and table of contents. During this lesson, students are asked to work with a partner to read information about a subject and then create text features for that information, such as a title, headings, and illustrations. Students are also asked to match the text feature with its description, demonstrating their understanding of the lesson vocabulary.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to name 10 text features in nonfiction books and tell why they are used.
