Description
Our Introduction to Reference Materials lesson plan teaches students about some common reference materials and how to use them. During this lesson, students are asked to play a game with a partner in which they draw words out of a hat and race to see who can find the word in the dictionary first. Students are also asked to practice alphabetizing lists of words and use a print dictionary to correct the spelling of given misspelled words.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to consult reference materials, including beginning dictionaries, as needed to check and correct spellings.
