Description
Our Collegial Discussions lesson plan teaches students all about collegial discussions, including what they are and what the specific rules are for participating in them. During this lesson, students are asked to work collaboratively with a group of their peers to have a collegial discussion, choosing a topic and assigning roles to each student before holding the discussion, rating the quality of the discussion and reflecting on it afterward. Students are also asked to read scenarios and decide which person (or which role) would be responsible in that scenario, demonstrating that they understand what each role does in a collegial discussion.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to list and follow rules for collegial discussions, set specific goals and deadlines, and define individual roles as needed.
