Description
Our Understanding Multiple Perspectives lesson plan teaches students strategies for better understanding multiple perspectives and key ideas in a discussion or piece of writing. During this lesson, students are asked to read lists of opinions and match them with the person most likely to have that perspective. Students are also asked to consider a scenario in which they have to move from a city to a rural area or vice versa and come up with four different perspectives on that scenario (for example, their parents vs. themselves or their siblings).
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to review the key ideas expressed during a discussion or speech and demonstrate understanding of multiple perspectives through reflection and paraphrasing.
