Description
Our Effective Listening lesson plan includes several components: how to use active listening in conversations and during a speaker’s presentation, use listening skills to summarize and interpret information and to determine if a speaker’s argument or claim is supported by facts. Students are asked to work collaboratively to answer questions based on a given passage that is read aloud to test their listening skills. Students are also asked to individually reflect on a time when not listening well enough caused a problem, showing them the real world applications of this lesson and its importance.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify and use effective listening skills to summarize, interpret and explain information presented orally, and describe a speaker’s argument or claim.
