Description
Our Consonant Blends (2-letter) lesson plan introduces students to consonant blends, including what they are and how they are used in words. Examples of several consonant blends are provided as part of common words with illustrations (for example, block) so students have a visual reference to help them sound out the word and understand the blend. During this lesson, students are asked to combine consonant blends with other parts of words to create as many words as they can using each given consonant blend. Students are also asked to insert the correct consonants into provided sentences.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to orally produce single-syllable words by blending sounds (phonemes), including consonant blends.
