Description
Our Word Problems Fraction by Whole Number lesson plan offers strategies for multiplying a fraction by a whole number when necessary to solve a word problem. The standard method and area model are both presented. During this lesson, students are asked to complete a creative activity in which they fill in a word problem with their own variables and solve. Students are also asked to solve provided word problems using the methods taught in the lesson, demonstrating their understanding.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to solve word problems involving multiplication of a fraction by a whole number.
