Description
Our Greek/Latin Affixes and Roots lesson plan introduces students to Greek and Latin prefixes, suffixes, and root words, which make up a large part of the English language. Students are asked to work collaboratively in order to complete an activity in which they create words using their own roots, suffixes, and prefixes. Students will also work independently to identify words with Greek and Latin roots in given sentences and complete a number of other activities to test their understanding.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify and use Greek and Latin affixes and roots, using their knowledge to define unknown words and increase their vocabulary.
