Description
Our Concept Mapping lesson plan teaches students about the purpose and uses of concept mapping. During this lesson, students are asked to read an example story and both complete a concept map for it and answer questions about it. Students are also asked to create concept maps for nonfiction topics assigned by their teacher.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to identify a purpose for concept mapping in reading both literature and nonfiction texts, use concept mapping to explore the relationship between characters in literature, and use concept mapping to organize information in nonfiction text.
