Description
Our Read for Purpose and Understanding lesson plan teaches students how to read texts with the intention to understand its purpose. During this lesson, students are asked to work collaboratively with a partner to create a book title for given book summaries, reading the summary and creating a title to match, along with determining why someone might read that specific book. Students are also asked to look at book covers and answer true/false questions about them, demonstrating their ability to determine information about a book from its cover.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to read grade-level text with purpose and understanding.
