Written vs. Spoken Language

$1.95

With our Written vs. Spoken Language lesson plan, students learn how to identify and use both formal and informal English in both their writing and speaking.

Description

Our Written vs. Spoken Language lesson plan teaches students about the differences between formal and informal English and how to use them. During this lesson, students are asked to read about various scenarios and decide whether they would use standard/formal or conversational/informal English for each. Students are also asked to rewrite a formal paragraph in informal language, demonstrating their ability to identify and use both types.

At the end of the lesson, students will be able to differentiate between the rules of standard English and informal conversational English, know which form of English is appropriate to certain situations and context, and be able to identify the audience and adapt their language form to fit the listeners.
