Description
Our Rectangular Prism Volume lesson plan teaches students how to find the volume of a rectangular prism. During this lesson, students are asked to measure the length, width, and height of various pieces of wood given to them by their teacher; they then sketch the rectangular prism of wood and label the measurements, rounding to the nearest whole inch, and then find the volume of each piece of wood. Students are also asked to find the volume of various objects in their house, measuring in inches or feet and rounding to the nearest whole number.
At the end of the lesson, students will be able to find the volume of rectangular prisms using the correct formula in both mathematical and real-world contexts.
